I just divorced the republican party because dare I say it, it's going to take a dem to turn this country around. Sorry but in a debate you don't lob big fat pitches, not even in high school. These folks are in it to win, and I the voter did very much want to hear what the candidates had to say about the issues. And yes, there are issues that are going to come up again and again. As a woman who's spent my life in construction, I would very much like to have some sort of dialog about gender the way Obama spoke about race. There are a lot of men who have a real problem with women in management. I have hired and trained a lot of people and I think I'm a pretty good judge of character. I've watched green trainees either "get it" and figure out how to be a good supervisor, and a lot that just don't have the gift. I watched Obama's face during the debates. He's an intelligent, well-spoken man with a lot of good ideas, but honestly the job he's applying for isn't an easy one. It appeared that he had a very hard time answering questions and he looked a bit angered and frustrated. I didn't think that debate was so hard. What happens when he goes against the repub? Or Iraq? How do you think that he's going to do in the hot seat if he gets so rattled in a debate? Hillary came off as a tough bird, which is just what this country needs. I've lived in the Middle East and those folks don't respect "hope" and "optimism" and "change". I'd rather decide who my candidate is based on facts not emotion. And I'll most likely base my final choice on who can turn around the economy. Why in the world are we back to 16 years ago and "it's the economy"? I will keep watching the candidates speak - isn't the internet amazing? - as my primary hasn't come up yet. Seems funny to hear Michael Moore complain about Hillary's tactics. Hmmmm? What's that all about? I like the fact that someone in this campaign is asking hard questions. I've been paying a lot of attention to politics lately and I realized that Earth Day is coming up. I don’t usually do much for Earth Day but with everyone going green these days, I thought I’d try to do my part. I am trying to find easy, simple things I can do to help stop global warming (I don’t plan on buying a hybrid). Has anyone seen that EarthLab.com is promoting their Earth Day (month) challenge, with the goal to get 1 million people to take their carbon footprint test in April?... I took the test, it was easy and only took me about 2 minutes and I am planning on lowering my score with some of their tips. I am looking for more easy fun stuff to do. If you know of any other sites worth my time let me know. Hey thanks for the great blog, I love this stuff.
